Gavrilo Spaich, Sr., in 1919, moved from the Balkans to the St Nick Clara Valley where he established his most memorable prune plantation. This marked the beginning of an abundant harvest that has been handed down through the Spaich family through the years.

California Packing Company has grown and devoted itself to producing only the highest-quality dried fruits since its inception. Every item that is packed by California Packing Company reflects the company's high standards of quality, honesty, and consistency.

The company is still run by the same family today. The Spaichs have devoted their lives to the dried plum industry in California. The highest-quality prunes that bear the California Packing Company name are produced with great skill and care.
