The entire Hillstrand family has lived in Alaska all their lives. Fish and the sea have always supported and surrounded our lives.
All 5 of our sons:
David, Jonathan, Andy, Michael, and Neil were born and raised in Kachemak Bay at the end of Homer Spit (called Call Point) with their grandparents Earl and Mary Jane Hillstrand.
And now, the fish-loving family tradition has been carried on by his four generations and her five, along with our grandchildren.
Scotty, Axel, Philip, Chelsea and Cathy spend time riding his F/V time his Bandit processing fish at Cole Point his Seafood Company.
Over the past 40+ years we have built and fished F/V Time Bandit, Bold Ruler, F/V Sea Wife, Invader, Gertrude Anne, Sadie Lady, Scoy Bay, Freedom and American Way boats. We have fished most Alaskan seafood species with most gear in all waters from Ketchikan to the Bering Sea. Also repaired and upgraded all five of her salmon that were damaged in the Alaskan earthquake, and restored salmon shipping routes from Noatak to Kodiak.
