Colle d'oro

Colle d'oro was founded in 1974 and is one of the most important Sicilian agricultural companies in vegetable production in greenhouses and open fields. The company serves the national market with 80% of its organic and conventional produce and exports the remaining 20% of organic produce to Austria, Germany, Great Britain, Denmark, Holland, and France. Its products are marketed for the main part through large-scale retail trade (75%), then wholesalers (17%), fruit and vegetable markets (5%), and industry (3%).

The farm extends over a surface of 1,200 ha. It is Global Gap, IFS, Tesco, and CCBP certified. The company is still in existence due to it making choices consistent with the changes in the agriculture industry.
