Olive oil "PGI LESVOS"

The indication "PGI LESVOS" is used for the production of extra virgin or virgin olive oil, which comes from the Kolovi and Adramitiani varieties grown in the Prefecture of Lesvos and processed in a mill that meets the requirements of the relevant legislation.

Olive varieties

The Kolovi variety is the most characteristic variety cultivated in Lesvos in about 70%. It has a high oil content of about 22-25%. The olive oil is of excellent quality with a strong aroma, a soft, sweet taste and a golden yellow colour and is one of the best oil-producing varieties, both in terms of productivity and quality.

The Adramitiani variety is the most famous olive in Asia Minor, where the most important part of its cultivation takes place in Mytilene north and northeast of the island.The fruit is round shape and medium in size with oil content estimated at 20-25%. The oil it produces is particularly aromatic, with a thin texture and full of flavor.

Extraction

Οur olive oil is produced from the fruit of the olive tree by mechanical methods with cold pressing.
