In the Albuquerque Old Town neighborhood, there is a traditional local bakery called Golden Crown Panaderia. Since 1972, they have continually provided the finest authentic New Mexican cuisine as a neighborhood bakery.
Golden Crown is a father-son-run, family-owned enterprise. In 1972, Pratt Morales founded the company. Christoper Morales, his son, grew up working in the bakery and now co-owns it with him.
With salads, cheese and garlic bread, fruit smoothies and milkshakes, tea from the NM Tea Co., gourmet coffees, beer on tap from several local breweries, wine, loaves of bread including our famous green chili bread and specialty breads, and a variety of pastries and cookies, they have grown over the years to offer diversity that no other bakery offers.
Many of Albuquerque's best hotels and restaurants, like the Hyatt Hotel, Petroleum Club, Smirolls International Cuisine, Albuquerque Convention Center, Amadoes Pizza, etc., have received their breads and pastries. For more than 25 years, many of their wholesale and retail clients have used baked goods.
