The Hundgellen business has been owned by the Thürig family for generations. In the 1990s, Domink and Rosmarie Thürig-Hegglin started selling their cherries on a table on the street directly from the farm. The table kept getting bigger and the range expanded with plums and other products.
In 2001 Dominik Thürig jun. took over the business from his parents on lease. During this time, a covered stall was set up on the street. At the same time, the sales range was expanded to include baked goods, jams, milk and vegetables.
In 2002 a 70 are orchard with cherries, plums and pome fruit was planted. This was covered with a hail net in order to always achieve impeccable quality.
In 2004 a 10 ares large raspberry crop was planted.
In 2005 there was a major change on the farm. The farm was managed by Domink Thürig jun. purchased. Dairy cattle farming was given up and the stable for 80 sows was rebuilt.
In 2006, the cultivation of berries was expanded to one hectare with strawberries, blueberries, currants, cassis, gooseberries, elderberries and blackberries, with strawberries and raspberries accounting for the largest share.
2007 Construction of the new farmhouse on the same side of the street as the barn. A new, spacious farm shop was integrated into the house. Lease of 4.5 Ha of land.
2008 Marriage Dominik Thürig with Irmgard Elmiger
2009 Lease of 140 ares of land with standard orchard in Gisikon.
2011 Construction of a 30 kw photovoltaic system on the barn roof.
2014 New construction of a service building with processing kitchen and tasting room.
2020 Purchase of the Chommle property in Gunzwil. The 30 hectare farm is an ideal complement to the Hundgellen farm, which is only 7 hectares in size.
