Houston Vineyard

In order to start Houston Vineyards in Eugene, Oregon in 1980, Steve Houston moved there from the Lodi region of California in 1979. Since the 1880s, Steve's family has been growing wine and table grapes nearby Lodi, starting in the Elkhorn Township to the east of the city.

After earning his degree in viticulture from the University of California at Davis, Steve relocated to Oregon and started looking for a vineyard site that would properly conserve the delicate nuances of the wine varietals we cultivate.

The most rewarding component of this particular endeavor was never envisaged when the vineyard was established in 1981. It has been and still is the delight of making wine that has drawn such a charming, talented, and varied following!
