The vineyard is located on Hwy 246, 11 miles west of Buellton in the cooler northwestern section of the Sta. Rita Hills AVA. Fog graces the vineyard most mornings; followed by cool Pacific ocean breezes and bright sunny afternoons. These conditions nurture the gentle ripening of our Pinot Noir and Chardonnay at lower sugars with crisp acidity and the higher levels of spice commonly seen in cool climate viticulture.
Dan's love for wine led to the beginning of the winery. He learned about wine and made wine in his home. He also planted 200 vines. Soon after, he received from the first UC Davis Distance Learning program, a Winemaker's Certificate. He and his wife purchased a 40-acre parcel and planted a 30-acre vineyard in 2005 at Sta. Rita Hills region.
