Company Story
The history of the company begins in 1950 when Mr. Federico Contessi with only 19 years started his first business, the Shipyard "La Juventud" dedicated to repair and build fishing vessels. The company years later changed its name to "Astillero Naval Federico Contessi y Cia. SA" and became one of the most important shipyards for the fishing industry in Argentina.
In 1977 the company renew its factory with 3 new big and modern industrial sheds.
In 1987 Pesquera Veraz was born after the mother company "Astillero Naval Federico Contessi y Cia." built 3 new vessels and keep it for it. This is how the seafood business began for the Contessi Family and how Grupo Veraz became a conglomerate of different companies.
Nowadays Grupo Veraz owns a shipyard, 4 factories for seafood and a fleet of 9 vessels.
