Rex Down Wholesale Fish Merchants Ltd

Rex Down founded Rex Down Wholesale Fish Merchants, a family-run company, in 1971. He started his fish business on Plymouth's Fish Quay, which was located on the Barbican, and supplied the city's eateries, hotels, and residents.

The Fish Quay was relocated to Sutton Harbour in Plymouth in the middle of the 1990s, where it is now located.

Rikki Down, the son of Rex Down, joined his parents in the industry and is still employed by Plymouth Trawler Agents. He continues to purchase the freshest fish for his clients as well as a wide range of frozen fish products.
