After a 28-year career in the U.S. Navy Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) Leon Tackitt and his wife Cindy decided to bring to the next level the handcraft winery of his grandfather way back in 1970.
For the first year in 2007, they were able to produce 30 gallons of grape juice. In 2009, they expand their planted vines, an acre of Gewurztraminer, and another acre of Petite Sirah. Now they can produce over 1000 gallons of juice on their property, aside from purchasing additional grapes to make a variety of wines.
