The strawberry plants, about 20 centimeters high, are arranged in rows and, during the whole cultivation cycle, need moderate but constant quantities of water.
The most widespread varieties in Southern Italy are Chandler, Pajaro, Tudla and Miranda, while in the northern areas Marmolada, Elsanta, Idea, Cesena, Dana, Gea, Honeoye and, limited to open field cultivation, Addie.
