Due to delays in the distribution of spinach from West Java and other neighboring provinces such as Jakarta, the price of this product has shown an upward trend over the past week. In some of the biggest traditional markets in Jakarta, spinach is now sold at an average price of IDR 35.000/Kg, an over 15% increase from its highest average price the week before at IDR 30.000/Kg. Since spinach is among the most demanded commodities locally, the suppliers expect that the additional stock would arrive soon in order to prevent the price to go up even higher.
