Egypt is more known for the country's high-quality table olives, however, olive oil producers in the country have performed well in 2019 with 27.5 KMT of production output, making the country the 9th biggest olive oil producer in the world. Industry experts argue that domestic consumption of olive oil is not at desired levels to increase the production output and moreover, the heatwaves during last year had negatively affected a part of the olive production yield. For the current year, expectations in terms of production yield are higher than last year's output.
