The USDA has eased labeling requirements for foodservice suppliers to make it easier for them to get products onto retail shelves. This comes as a result of COVID 19 limiting foodservice sales as restaurants, hotels, and theme parks across the country are closed to prevent the spread of the virus.
Foodservice labeling is less stringent than retail labeling, but the USDA is allowing for foodservice suppliers to use their labeling for products re-routed to retail for 60 days beginning on April 20, 2020.
