The refined oil industry is a very concentrated field in Hungary, 3 main producers control the market. Large, vertically integrated producers are controlling the other markets of the region as well, the situation is similar in Romania, Poland, Bulgaria and Ukraine. Oil refining is a very capital-intensive industry and a lot of investments is required in order to make a profit.
