New Zealand suppliers consider Iran a challenging market to do business, although knowing of the big potential. An opaque regulatory environment, weak trade laws, and intellectual property protection, very high customs duties and problems with corruption are the factors that New Zealand exporters consider when doing business with Iran - especially finding the right local partners is considered crucial.
Exporters are advised to consult their banks for information on facilitating trade with Iran before making commitments.
