The Canadian government has shown its support for the country's struggling seafood industry by committing $470 million dollars to the sector and urging citizens to buy domestically. Coronavirus caused a multitude for issues to the industry from limiting export demand, closing restaurants and limiting foodservice sales, delaying harvesting seasons, and closing processing facilities. As the global situation normalizes, the industry is hopeful that demand will pick-up as well.
