Lychee providing economic benefits for farmers in Bac Giang province, Vietnam

Bac Giang Department of Industry and Trade has reported that up to July 16, the province has sold 164,700 tons of lychee (an increase of about 15,000 tons compared to the 2019 crop). The domestic consumption accounted for 52.5% and the rest was for export. The average selling price of lychee this year was VND 1.35 USD/kg (lower than the 2019 crop). The total value obtained from the lychee industry has reached about 298 million USD, an increase of 26 million USD compared to last year. In terms of export, this year, Bac Giang lychee has first entered the fastidious market of Japan (about 200 tons) for the first time and Vietnamese litchi is very popular with Japanese consumers.
