Jamaica will open its borders to international tourism next week and this will be great for fruit and vegetable farmers across the country. The food service industry was more or less non-existent due to COVID lockdowns across the country and this severely limited demand for farmers who depend on hotel and cruise ship sales for their produce. Demand will be lower than in prior years, but the opening of the borders is great news for farmers.
