Production of Pumpkins for exports is slowly gaining pace in Uganda whose demand currently comes from the neighbouring East African countries such as Kenya where it is used for pharmaceuticals and as a food supplement.
Grown in Eastern parts of Uganda under tropical savannah conditions, production months for Pumpkins are from March to April, September to November/December and January which is a low season every year.
