In 2025, Kazakhstan exported large quantities of wheat to Algeria for the first time in its history – a total of 390 thousand tons worth over 100 million dollars, reported the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Official statistics indicate that the only recorded transactions before this were 15 thousand tons in October 2007 and 5 thousand tons in the same month of 2017. The Ministry highlighted that the growth in exports was mainly aided by the state subsidization of transportation costs this year, as well as significant support at the foreign policy level.
