The Ethiopian Commodity Exchange has achieved 96% of its target by trading 698,349tn of agricultural commodities worth 36.1 billion Br over the past 11months,
Out of the total value, coffee was on top and accounted for 281,000tn and 22.3 billion Br. Sesame followed with 240,000tn and 10.4 billion Br, volume and value, respectively. Soybeans, green mung beans, white kidney beans, and red kidney beans followed coffee and sesame.
Coffee covers up to 40% of the total value, while sesame accounted for 34% of the overall transactions.
