The main varieties of Argentine pear sold in the Sao Paulo market in Brazil are Williams, Packams, and Danjou. Among these, the most preferred variety by Brazilian consumers seems to be Williams. Comparing Williams with other varieties, one of the varieties, Giffard pear, has a very short shelf life and only sells well before Williams pears arrive, which have a longer shelf life. Thus, once Williams comes into the market, Giffards will be left unsold.

To update the general market situation of Brazil, until now, no buyer has received the price for the pears yet, expecting to receive prices within 1-2 weeks. Additionally, the arrival of Giffard pear has been delayed. Though the shipment was supposed to start WK 2, it is reported that it will take another additional week.

Meanwhile, the preferences for the Williams pear are as below:
- Preferred box: telescopic 18kg
- Preferred size : depends on buyers, but mainly around 70-110.

It is expected that the shipment of Williams pear will arrive in Brazil at the end of January.
