Price Decrease of Indonesian Yellowfin Tuna During W6 Due to Slow Market in the United States

In Indonesia, yellowfin tuna is mostly processed as frozen co-treated loin, steak, Saku, Poke, and minced meat by local suppliers and processors for the United States market. During W6, while yellowfin tuna remained stable in January, the US market continued with slow sales due to overstock. The price of fresh whole yellowfin tuna in East Indonesia fishing ground (FAO 71 - Western Pacific Ocean) has decreased to USD 3.65/kg basis on its previous level of USD 4/kg in December 2022-January 2023 FOB.
