Avian Influenza (HPAI) hits three more chicken farms in Japan. Miyazaki is critical.

Three more poultry farms in Japan, reported avian flu cases. With these into account bring the country’s total for this season to 10 in four prefectures.

One of these farms is located in one of Japan’s most important poultry producing regions, Miyazaki. Here, 40,000 poultry will be culled after H5 virus detection. Pathogenicity is still to be confirmed. A similar virus has been found at two more chicken farms in Mitoyo city in Kagawa prefecture. There has also been one outbreak in each of the prefectures of Fukuoka and Hyogo.
