An emergency was declared on 4 October 2022 in the Belgorod region of Russia due to heavy rain. The area previously had a good harvest expectation for grain crops. However, farmers are now dealing with severe weather influences at the end of harvest. Excessive soil moisture creates problems for the movement of agricultural equipment and the harvest of sunflowers, corn, and soybeans. Additionally, farmers are worried that the unharvested crop will be wasted if the weather does not improve soon.
