High productivity in bean production of 2020 has resulted in a 20% decline in the price due to the increased supply. Common bean production of Turkey is expected to be around 350 kmt in 2020.

Chickpea harvest is completed during the months of July and August and the chickpea price has increased by USD 0.26/kg which indicates a 30% rise. The high domestic demand for chickpeas by the roasted chickpea companies is also another reason behind the price increase. Roasted chickpea is a very popular snack in Turkey.
