The closer the end of the 19/20 season approaches, the higher are the forecasts for the Brazilian production of grains. A new production record of 257.8 million tons is expected, an increase of 1.6% from the previous report a month ago. Soybean with 124.8 tons and maize with 102.1 million tons account together for almost 90% of the overall volume. Rice is expected to reach 11.2 million tons, common beans 3.2 million tons and cotton lint 2.9 million tons. The traditional winter crops (canola, wheat, oats, rye, barley and triticale) planted area increased between 11.6-14.1% and are still on the field. But preliminary forecasts set 6.8 million tons.
