Prices of Canadian Premium Live Lobster Decreased as a Result of Fewer Wholesaler Purchases

It has been a difficult year for Canadian lobster merchants as live lobster prices were set high for the spring and summer seasons. Although the outlook was positive, wholesalers stopped buying which sent prices tumbling because restaurants and retailers found it hard to move the product at higher price levels. For W42, prices for premium live lobster have fallen to USD 18.74/kg (USD 8.5/lb) and USD 20.28/kg (USD 9.20/lb) for Chixs and Quarter sizes.
