Planted Canadian oat acres have the potential to fall significantly this year and into the future as two of the country's largest millers have chosen to purchase glyphosate-free oats. Glyphosate is a pesticide and consumer preference is driving several large companies in both Canada and the United States to move away from its use as remnants have been found in food. The result of this is some Canadian farmers many choose to grow other products than change production methods.
