Canned tomato price has been increasing since the beginning of 2021 season

Among the top 5 exporters of canned tomatoes, tomatoes from Italy have been most expensive, with an average price of USD 976 per MT for crop production of 2021. The USA with USD 885 per MT, Greece with USD 692 per MT, Spain with USD 684 per MT, and Portugal with USD 575 per MT. The average export price of Turkish-origin tomato products is around USD 800 per MT FOB Turkey. For the coming 2022 season, producers expect at least a 40% increase in the price of final products due to decreasing plantation and increasing input costs.
