The 2024 sardine fishing season is proving to be challenging in Croatia and Greece, characterized by notably poor catches, particularly in smaller categories such as 40-50 and 50-60. This scarcity significantly implicates local fisheries and markets in these regions. In Portugal, the sardine fishing season is progressing as anticipated, scheduled to continue until Oct-24 or until quotas are filled. However, similar difficulties persist in obtaining smaller sardines, with catches predominantly falling within the size range of 12 to 25.
