Uruguayan meat exporters were looking forward to an import increase in China as the Chinese New Year celebrations approach, but the COVID-19 lockdowns keep demand and prices low. Uruguayan shin & shank prices in China stand at a CFR value of USD 7.2-7.3K/ton, which implies a 20% drop compared to April prices. Uruguayan producers do not see the benefit of selling at those prices as the lowest profitable value stands at USD 7.8K/ton.
