Citric acid prices in Turkey have more than halved since the beginning of 2022. The price level was around USD 2,500/MT at the start of 2022 and has decreased to around USD 1,100/MT. Importers and buyers in Turkey are taking position towards this price decrease. One of the biggest fruit juice producers in Turkey stated that, even some companies in Turkey that do not import citric acid directly, especially from China, will start to import soon to take advantage of the low prices.
