Colombia has emerged as a new preferred market destination for Polish apple suppliers. In 2021, few exports were shipped to Colombia, but in 2022, all apples cleared by Colombian authorities were shipped. This resulted in a limited availability of reefer containers sailing to Colombia, making bookings more complicated due to the high demand. Additionally, a lot of Polish apple suppliers were highly motivated to look for alternate markets as there were issues with not receiving full payment last season in the Saudi Arabia and Indian markets.
