Despite the Korean pear season having ended several months ago, many boxes of pears with Korean characters are still in the wholesale market in Vietnam. Counterfeiting has become so sophisticated that only sellers can differentiate between Korean and Chinese pears. Chinese pears now feature QR stamps on each product, mimicking Korean pears' appearance. Sellers often falsely market their pears as Korean to sell at higher prices, leveraging buyers' trust in Korean product quality. In W16, the wholesale price of pears ranged from USD 23 to 25 USD per 15 kilogram (kg) box in the Vietnamese market.
