The barley market in Ukraine in April 2026 faced a sharp deficit, particularly in brewing barley. Currently, brewing barley is almost absent from the market, causing a sharp rise in prices. Farmers who held stocks found themselves in a favorable position, able to sell their grain at high prices. This is reported by AgroReview. Price dynamics and reasons for the deficit As of April 2026, the prices for feed barley are within the range of 9,000–10,200 UAH per ton (SRT-port), which corresponds to 217–220 USD per ton. Brewing barley is currently priced at 11,400–12,000 UAH per ton with delivery to the factory—this is the highest level this season. A paradoxical situation arose due to high export demand for feed barley at the beginning of the season. Many agricultural producers sold brewing barley as feed, without waiting for better prices.
