As part of the recently approved law for Due Diligence in the supply chain of Germany during W47, companies that supply on a scale from origin countries must follow due diligence regarding social and ethical standards in producing countries. Costa Rica producers regularly supply the German market. The Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Oxfam of German origin, will visit banana plantations in Costa Rica to review working conditions and present their findings, as it is a common practice in the banana industry and it is not the first time Costa Rican producers have received this type of visit.
