Costa Rican pineapple producers are currently negotiating their annual contracts for 2024, and there is an observable trend of offered prices increasing by around 4 to 5% year-on-year (YoY). This price hike is attributed, in part, to the currency revaluation in the country during 2023, where the exchange rate decreased from CRC 600 per USD to CRC 530 per USD. Approximately half of the production costs are paid in the local currency.
