Due to the rise of confirmed covid-19 cases in the Philippines, demand for coconut water in the domestic market has increased by 30% due to its health benefits. Export of coconut water is allowed, thus the supply of coconuts in the Mindanao provinces are made into processed juices as the export of mature raw coconuts is banned. Production of coconut water has increased by 15% as well to be able to cater to the demands of the public just this 2nd quarter of 2020. If pandemic continues, then suppliers are projecting the increase to continue until end of 2020.
