The president of the Federation of Cattlemen of Guatemala brought at least 22 producer associations together and reported that the prices of live cattle are maintained and no immediate increases are expected. Last Thursday, meat sellers from at least 45 markets accused farmers of increasing the price of the product which impacts the final consumer and marketers. The president explained that stabled cattle in a barn for fattening is the one that most requires concentration, and because of this, a mixture with corn is used and this has risen in price, compared to animals that are fed with grass.
