Formalization of Edible Oil Producers in Tanzania

The Tanzanian government has embarked on a formalization programme for sunflower producers in the Dodoma and Singida regions in an effort to curb a shortage of sunflower oil in the country. The Property and Business Formalisation Programme plan was revealed during the annual Agricultural Exhibitions (Nane Nane exhibitions) held from the 1st to the 8th of August 2022 in the Mbeya region. This initiative is in line with the government's quest to increase the domestic production of sunflower oil and become a net exporter of edible oil.
