Galician octopus sector in worst crisis in history

The octopus sector is currently undergoing its worst crisis in history in the Galician autonomous region. In July, there were only 29 MT produced compared to 222 produced last July. This comes as a plummeting demand that led to unsustainable costs for many fishers.

Many fisheries are dropping the product to focus on those with higher margins causing this devastating campaign, which does not seem to stop anytime soon
