Processing is a major element in the export of sesame seeds. Different buyers have different purity and other requirements which require different processing techniques. Recently, due to a change in Pakistani government policy to prefer gas provision to residential areas than industrial areas in March, it had a major impact on the sesame industry since the processing plants are not being able to operate at their maximum capacity hence making it difficult for the suppliers to maintain their production schedules.
