Virtually all of US prune production comes from the San Joaquin and Sacramento Valleys in California and the 2020-21 crop was estimated to be as low at 68,000 MT. The smaller California crop, which was harvested in August, coupled with shorter 2021 crops out of Argentina and Chile caused by recent rainstorms has is causing prune supply to tighten.
