In 2022 the Tahiti lime has achieved record prices up to USD 1.25 for export and up to USD 1.01 for the local market, which is why citrus growers remain optimistic, as exporters continue to send the products to different destinations, including the USA, Caribbean Islands, and Europe, in addition to the good dynamics in the local market, which helps the price to remain exceptionally high.
Of course, despite the good prices, Tahiti lime producers are facing challenging times ahead, because while on the one hand, the fruit has these good prices, they are not unaware of the rise in fertilizer prices, which could also worsen due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, taking into account that these two countries are where most of the fertilizer used in Colombia is imported from.
