Growers in Afyon produce potato and pumpkin in the same fields as alternating products

Farmers in Afyon produce pumpkin and potato in the same fields, alternating between the products to maximize their earnings. The annual potato production in the city is 455 kmt which makes it the 3rd biggest potato production city in Turkey.

Farmers have started to explore alternative products to produce in addition to potato and this endeavor has led to the increase of pumpkin production in recent years. The annual pumpkin production in the city is 3 kmt and the city is the 9th biggest pumpkin producer in the country.
