The mango crop is badly affected this year due to a sudden rise in temperature even in the month of March and April as the temperature remained between 32 °C to 42 °C as compared to last year's temperature of 27 °C to 33 °C.

In the month of March and April, Mango fruit was in growing stage but due to no rainfall it could not grow well in terms of size and shape even started to fall due to excessive dryness. Production is expected to drop by 50% tentatively. The heat wave has even affected the quality of the fruit as well. Fruit is of smaller size, deformed, and maturity issues are being observed. Prices have increased for export-oriented fruits because of this downfall in production.
