According to calculations by the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, in the first 9 months of 2020, fruit and vegetable imports decreased by 32.5% over the same period in 2019. In which, imports of vegetables and fruits from China decreased by 31.46%. But China has returned to the No. 1 position in the fruit and vegetable supply market for Vietnam after 6 years of being usurped by Thailand (2014-2019).

From the beginning of the year until now, fruit and vegetable imports from Thailand have decreased by 87%. In addition, Vietnam has also imported vegetables from the US, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Korea, India, and Cambodia. This shows that Vietnam is actively looking for new sources, combined with domestic fruit and vegetable production to ensure supply and consumption, contributing to stabilizing domestic prices.
